Who?
Erin
Blank has been performing
since 1979, when she made her first costume out of an old shag rug that
once lined her bedroom floor. Through trial and error, as well as
meeting literally thousands of mascots and costume makers, Erin has
developed light-weight, washable, charismatic and affordable costumes
for her clients.
In addition, her professional experience - from minor league baseball,
hockey and soccer to the NHL, MLB and World Cup - is a plethora of
information and insight into the fuzzy, fun world of mascots.
She is a regular
contributor
to Universal Cheerleaders Association's Varsity.com site, and her
expertise was called upon by both UCA and NCA when re-designing their
mascot training handbooks.
Erin has also been
featured
in newspapers across the country, including ESPN the Magazine, the Wall
Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Orlando Sentinel,
Minneapolis Star, and San Francisco Chronicle. NBC's John Walsh Show
offered Erin's exploits as a "Dream Job for Women", and the motion
picture documentary, "Behind the Mascot" followed Erin's final
professional season as a mascot.
The Detroit News named Erin
as the Best Mascot in Michigan each year of her career as the Tigers
mascot PAWS, and AskMen.com tagged her as one of the top ten best
mascots in baseball. In the year 2000, Kutztown University
recognized Erin as one of the 100 most influential alumni in the past
century. (Erin's

Matthew
Blank has been dragged
half-way across the country and back following his wife's quest to be
the best mascot she can be. A child psychologist by trade,
Matthew has a keen eye for evaluating how crowds respond to
mascots. And after 16 years of being Erin's "biggest fan and
worst critic", Matthew's outside approach to evaluation offers a fresh
perspective on performance.
Matthew and Erin
are
avid
fans of sports, having visited more than 50 venues in the United States
and Canada. Matthew never shied away from a road trip, all star
game, or a new brand of hot dog. Because of this he's been
exposed to plenty of mascots from high school through the major leagues.
When Erin was
carrying
their
child Matthew even stepped into costume to get a feel for what she went
through. "How addicting", was his initial response (commenting on
the overpouring of affection the kids gave to him). "I think I
created a monster" was Erin's reply.

Tim Beckwith is our
Marketing
Manager, Boomer wrangler, outreach coordinator, and all-around cool
guy. Tim hails from Bridgewater College, where Ernie Eagle put
his mark on the "Water Sprinkler" dance. Tim was also
instrumental in keeping Cylo, of the Lancaster Barnstormers, looking
good, smelling clean, and meeting his adoring fans throughout the 2006
season.
Tim has no idea what he's in for. And we're not telling.

What?
Keystone Mascots
provides more
than a costume, it provides assistance and services to help you make
your mascot a marketing tool.... at an affordable price.
Where?
Keystone Mascots is
located
right in the heart of Amish Country- Lancaster, Pa. This offers
strategic access to the Eastern Seaboard and all the resources
available in those cities.
When?
Keystone Mascots evolved
from
"CharisMascots" back in 1993. However, Erin's first costume commission
came in 1987, while she was in college.
Why?
Erin's passion for
developing
mascot programs evolved for a few different reasons. When she started
there was little structure to what she could or couldn't do. Her high
school mascot was a Comet, which had to be custom-designed.
Because of the vaccuum
of
formal training and advice available Erin started MascotNet
in 1996 - a purely non-commercial site for performers and advisors!
How?
...with HONESTY.
Truth comes rare these days. We'll do our best to give you the
most accurate assessment of your mascot program's situation and offer
the best solutions.
...with INTEGRITY. This business was built on the blessings that
come from Jesus Christ. We intend to uphold his values to the
best of our abilities.
...with LIFE. Can you name anything more devastating than putting
labor over family? Life wasn't designed to sacrifice time with
those we love to maintain a career. Keystone Mascots honors life
by working hard on work days, and giving time off for our team to meet
the needs of our families. (So if you don't hear from us some time
during the week we could be playing ball somewhere!)
